Contributions Ease Your Tax Burden

Contributions made to the Fund receive maximum deductibility for Federal income, gift and estate tax purposes.  Gifts to the permanent endowment of the Swartz Creek Community Schools' Education Fund, or its sub-funds, are eligible for a Michigan Community Foundation Tax Credit as follows:

            Individuals may receive a State income tax credit of 50% of the amount of the
            gift up to $200 (credit up to $100) for a single return and up to $400 (credit up
            to $200 for a joint return).

            Corporations may receive a State income tax credit for up to 5% of the
            corporation's tax liability or on a gift of up to $10,000 (credit up to $5,000),
            whichever is less.

The Michigan Community Foundation Tax Credit is in addition to those available for donations to public broadcasting stations, Michigan colleges or universities, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, food banks and public libraries.

All Contributions Are Professionally Managed

The Swartz Creek Community Schools' Education Fund is a fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.  All investments, reporting, and other administration is done in conjunction with the professional management of more than $80 million in the Community Foundation.

The Community Foundation Is Publicly Accountable

Annual reporting through an independent audit, filing tax returns, public disclosures of all activities and a board composed of local citizens assures ongoing faith in the fund and its uses.

The Swartz Creek Community Schools' Education Fund will grow through gifts from area residents, organizations, and businesses thus creating a permanent and ever expanding endowment to meet changing community needs.

Your gift to the Swartz Creek Community Schools' Education Fund is a gift that keeps on giving for the exclusive use of the Swartz Creek Community District, its students, facilities, programs and graduates.

Your gift will be invested; and today's gift will pay income every year to meet the future needs of the Swartz Creek Community School District.

A sub-fund, named by the donor, can be created with a gift of $5,000 or more.  In this way the donors concerns for the Swartz Creek Community School District will be remembered for generations to come.

Specific language for the creation of a sub-fund during the donor's lifetime, or to create a fund through a Will is also available to interested potential donors.

The Swartz Creek Community Schools' Education Fund is an endowment created to benefit the Swartz Creek Community School District, its students, facilities, programs and graduates.  It is one of the more than 215 component funds totaling more than $80 million in the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.

Investing today so tomorrow may be better-this is the philosophy of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, which is a permanent community endowment built upon the gifts of hundreds of individuals, corporations and organizations.  Income from this endowment provided grants to meet community needs as is the case of the Swartz Creek Community Schools' Educational Fund.  It is not possible to know what the challenges and problems of tomorrow will be, but we do know the Community Foundation will be around to help resolve them, because it is permanent.
